Neural Network Modulation – a historical review in New England Journal of Medicine from Dr. Okun

Deep brain stimulation has helped more than 100,000 people with various neurologic disorders around the world. Two of the pioneers in this field, Drs. Benabid (neurosurgeon) and Delong (neurologist), are being honored for their leadership and contributions.

As part of this tribute, our co-director Dr. Michael Okun has written an article for the New England Journal of Medicine discussing the history and future of deep brain stimulation technology. It includes a significant interactive portion with diagrams of DBS and clinical example videos. Clicking one of the diagrams opens up a section with all of the media sorted by diagnosis.

Please read the article and enjoy the interactive portion.
